Our focus with electric propulsion is on displacement recreational cruisers in the 40-60ft range, 35-80ft sailing vessels with traditional shafts or sail drives, as well as similarly sized commercial fishing (e.g. trolling) and research vessels. This class of boat is usually best served by a serial hybrid solution, where the prop(s) are driven 100% of the time by an electrical motor and a generator is used solely for charging the propulsion batteries.
